Contemplative Hands

con·tem·pla·tive  [kuhn-tem-pluh-tiv] –adjective
1. given to or characterized by contemplation: a contemplative mind.–noun
2. a person devoted to contemplation, as a monk.

Early monks combined a life of prayer with simple manual labor like mat weaving or basket making. I now feel the need to slow down. There is a movement called ‘slow cloth’, that is my goal…to work slowly and prayerfully in my hand work.
